Seattle Peoples Fund’s mission is to improve and expand mutual understanding and respect within and between individuals and groups of the many diverse cultures in the Seattle area, particularly of those whose voices have traditionally not been heard.

We provide grants for projects that assist communities in expressing and invigorating their cultural traditions, arts and languages through community engagement and community building efforts. We prioritize supporting projects that are organized by the communities being served and where people come together and engage meaningfully with each other.

We are particularly interested in supporting organizations that may not have access to traditional sources of funding.

Application materials can be found here: guidelines and application form.

APPLICATION PROCESS

  • Applications must be received by Seattle Peoples Fund by Friday, July 25, 2025. The Board of Directors will review proposals, and grantees will be notified by the end of September about the outcome of their request.

  • All applicants (regardless of whether they are prior grantees) must complete the Grant Application Form.

  • Technical assistance is available, if you need help in completing the application form. We do not want the Grant Application Form to be a barrier to applying for funds. Please let us know if we can help you through this process.

  • We prefer that you email all application materials to seattlepeoplesfund@gmail.com. If that is not possible, please mail your application so that it is received by the deadline to: Seattle Peoples Fund, P.O. Box 28663, Seattle, WA 98118. You will receive a reply by email confirming that we have received your application.

  • Your application will be processed by the Grants Manager. You will be contacted if additional information is needed. The typical time taken to process a grant request is 8-12 weeks. Depending on the number of grant proposals received and the need for evaluation and site visits, some proposals may take longer to review. All applications are presented to the Board of Directors. All grants must be approved by the Board of Directors.

  • Grantees are asked to submit a short report upon completion of the project.
